Big in Japan, pt. 2, “Christmas in a Submarine”
I finally got a glimpse of Mt. Fuji at about 6:30 yesterday morning as I was walking across the street to replace my bus ticket. I wasn’t expecting it and didn’t really have a clue as to how close it was, and no painter could’ve made a better looking mountain. About 30 seconds later it was gone again and hidden in fog.
Went to the Imperial Gardens to see the palace but found out that one has to have an invitation in order to see it. Couldn’t find the locker I put my bags in at Shinjuku station and ended up buying a train ticket to the airport that cut things way too close. Narita Airport has two terminals, and I had to guess which one Delta flew out of. I guessed wrong, missed check-in by 5 minutes, and had to spend the night in Narita.
